 ABSTRACT

To demonstrate the use of an effective CAI tool for residents utilizing a web-based program that catalogs teaching files, interactive conferences, & question and answer modules utilizing a large file of images that are shared over the country. A standard browser is used. Program provides thousands of cases shared among registered users. Users add cases that include images, differentials, & discussions. Conferences are created by linking images to discussions present in the TF. Question based modules are produced by linking images to questions & answers. A database keeps student’s test scores. Ability to share these functions greatly decreases the burden on any one residency. Users appreciate 24-hour availability, while staff appreciate access to scores and shared information. A shared, internet based, multi-institution electronic TF can meet the RRC requirements and offer many aspects of teaching. Conferences, exam modules, and thousands of TF images can be shared over the internet
