ABSTRACT
We present the University of Michigan implementation of the RSNA MIRC system. The system is very flexible in that images, text, video files, etc. can be uploaded to the server. Textual information is then indexed by the web server, where it can then be searched via a web browser. Teaching files composed of images and text can be uploaded to the server from a Windows-based PC with RadPix software (http://www.radpix.com, Weadock Software, LLC). High quality images can then be retrieved from the server for insertion into presentations. Microsoft® PowerPoint® files can also be uploaded to the server with RadPix Power 2 MIRC software, which extracts the text and notes from a presentation. The original presentation along with the text and inserted video files are then uploaded. All University of Michigan Department of Radiology weekly conferences are being made accessible on our intranet through this system.
