Adverse events with contrast agents are relatively infrequent, but may be life threatening. Several recent approaches are particularly promising for limiting or preventing contrast nephrotoxicity. Aim: To define clinically significant adverse events related to iodinated contrast media, and to elucidate their recognition, prevention and treatment.
